Our National School caters for children from junior infants to sixth class.

Shanballymore N.S. has changed and developed in many ways over the years. In the not so distant past three new classrooms were constructed. The original school building was converted into a bright and spacious gymnasium, a resource room and toilets. Further improvements made at the time included the addition of a staffroom, store room, office and reception lobby.

Throughout all these changes some things have remained the same. We have always strived to ensure that the children who attend our school reach their full potential and receive a solid foundation in their education. We strive to ensure all children are happy and are enjoying school life as much as possible.

Shanballymore National School was built in 1843. Hedge schools were in operation in the area prior to the construction of the school.

Shanballymore N.S. was extended and renovated in 1985.

Shanballymore N.S. will celebrate its 175th anniversary in October 2018.
